In September 2026, a 20-year-old man known as Nacho was fatally shot in the Barcenillas area of Málaga. Preliminary investigations by the National Police indicated the victim may have been killed by mistake.

Authorities believe three attackers, who were placed in provisional prison, intended to target a hitman they believed was watching them from a nearby bench. Investigators noted the victim had no criminal record and no connection to drug trafficking or criminal organizations. The victim died in a hospital after seeking help at a local supermarket following the attack.
