Developments: 5. The Milwaukee Brewers have advanced to the World Series for the first time since 1982 after completing a 4-0 sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. In the decisive Game 4 on October 15, the Brewers overcame an early 4-0 deficit. Although Shohei Ohtani hit a three-run home run to fuel the Dodgers' lead, Garrett Mitchell hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to shift momentum. The Brewers' bullpen secured the 6-4 comeback, aided by a ninth-inning two-run cushion from David Hamilton and a scoreless save by Aaron Ashby. Jake Bauers was named NLCS MVP following his performance. This sweep represents a significant upset for the Dodgers, who were considered favorites to achieve a three-peat. Analysts have attributed the Dodgers' disappointing postseason exit to injuries affecting Shohei Ohtani, who struggled with knee and arm issues, finishing the postseason with a .192 batting average. Additionally, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has faced scrutiny regarding his tactical decisions and the team's inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Brewers manager Pat Murphy noted that for a team with the Dodgers' expectations, anything less than a championship is viewed as failure. The Brewers, who finished the regular season with 103 wins, are now preparing to face either the Cleveland Guardians or the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series, scheduled to begin on October 23 at American Family Field. Betting markets currently favor the Brewers in a potential matchup, with odds suggesting a 65.5% win probability against Cleveland and a 57.5% probability against Tampa Bay. ## Claims - The Los Angeles Dodgers failed to reach the World Series after losing four consecutive games in the NLCS.
