In Satkhira, a 38-year-old man named Wahiduzzaman Shamim was beaten to death following allegations of religious blasphemy. Tensions reportedly escalated after an audio recording containing derogatory remarks about Islam was circulated on social media. 

An individual allegedly used Facebook Live broadcasts to disclose Shamim’s home address and mobilize a crowd. Although police rescued Shamim after an initial assault and moved him to a local health complex, a mob of several hundred people reportedly stormed the hospital. Attackers allegedly pressured medical staff to hand him over and beat him again, leading to his death. 

The incident has drawn condemnation from political parties and human rights organizations, with calls for investigations into the security breach at the hospital and the arrest of those involved.
