Recent architectural developments in Central Europe highlight a trend of integrating modern design with local historical or natural contexts.

In the Czech village of Bukovany, the Bukovanský domeček was designed by Václav Navrátil, Jan Sedláček, and the SENAA team. The 180-square-meter vacation home utilizes repurposed wooden beams from Prague to blend contemporary details with traditional forms, featuring a central concrete spiral staircase and integrated sauna.

In the Polish Beskydy Mountains, new mountain cottages have been constructed to balance modern aesthetics with the natural landscape. These structures employ traditional saddle roofs and dark wood facades to harmonize with the greenery, while interiors combine industrial elements like exposed concrete with warm materials such as light plywood and stone.
