The Moldovan government has announced a new round of applications for the ‘Casa Verde’ (Green House) program, scheduled to begin this autumn. Managed by the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED), the initiative provides subsidies covering up to 50% of investment costs for improving the energy efficiency of private residences, with a maximum limit of 200,000 lei per household.

Eligible improvements include installing heat pumps, solar panels with batteries, or replacing windows and doors, as well as roof and wall insulation. For solar and heat pump funding, residences must be thermally insulated or undergoing insulation.

Applications are processed on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Following an initial stage in July 2025 that saw 525 approved subsidies from 745 applications, a second stage is planned for March 2026 with a budget of 200 million lei intended for approximately 1,000 households.
