The Moldovan Customs Service has introduced a new digital process for travelers to submit mandatory written declarations for cash amounts equivalent to 10,000 euros or more.

Using the eCustoms platform, travelers can electronically transmit declarations via mobile devices or computers before reaching a customs post. Upon arrival, travelers are required to provide a system-assigned declaration number to officials. To utilize this service, users must register on the portal with their identity details and travel document numbers.

While amounts below the 10,000 euro threshold do not require written documentation, travelers must still verbally disclose values if questioned. Failure to comply with declaration requirements may result in administrative fines between 5,000 and 60,000 lei and the seizure of funds.
