The Montana State University Bobcats football team secured the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) national title, marking the program’s first championship since 1984. The victory followed a 14-2 season that included playoff wins over Yale, Stephen F. Austin, the University of Montana, and Illinois State.

Quarterback Justin Lamson, who previously played for Syracuse and Stanford, played a central role in the championship run. Lamson recorded 3,172 passing yards with 26 touchdowns and contributed 734 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns during the campaign.

Following the championship, the team traveled to Washington, D.C., to be honored at the White House. During the ceremony, President Brock Tessman praised the team’s “hard work and determination.”
