The municipality of Montemor-o-Velho has announced a 6.4 million euro investment in education for the 2026/2027 school year. The budget allocates 4.6 million euros toward school infrastructure improvements, including renovations at Escola Básica Dr. José dos Santos Bessa, Centro Escolar do Seixo de Gatões, and Escola Básica do 1º Ciclo de Tentúgal, with some projects co-financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). 

An additional 1.8 million euros is designated for socio-educational support, covering school meals, transportation, extracurricular activities, and economic aid for primary school materials.
