The Morelos State Congress has initiated efforts to formalize territorial boundaries between various municipalities to ensure legal certainty and improve public service planning. This process involves dialogue between state legislators, government officials, and municipal authorities, including representatives from Zacualpan de Amilpas, Tetela del Volcán, Tlayacapan, Atlatlahucan, and the indigenous municipality of Hueyapan. Following a Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation resolution regarding Constitutional Controversy 350/2023, the Congress has established a schedule to facilitate an administrative handover between Hueyapan and Tetela del Volcán.
