Sources: 14. Developments: 2. The government of Morelos has introduced a security and economic strategy centered on institutional coordination, investment, and territorial presence. Secretary of Government Edgar Maldonado Ceballos emphasized that peace requires “daily actions” and “institutional coordination” rather than political rhetoric, specifically highlighting operations in the municipality of Cuautla to contain criminal activity. Following the implementation of this strategy, business leaders have expressed concerns regarding a lack of communication. Juan Díaz Olvera, Vice President of the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial in Morelos, reported that the business, commercial, and tourism sectors remain uninformed about specific actions within the ‘Plan Cuautla’. He noted that the lack of coordination extends to the academic and health sectors, suggesting that local entrepreneurs could assist in identifying regional problems to help design effective security and economic measures. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-07: Quintana Roo tourism faces decline amid airline departures and sargassum Tourism in Quintana Roo is declining due to sargassum and reduced airline connectivity, with several carriers leaving Tulum while Mexicana de Aviación expands its flight offerings. 12 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/morelos-business-leaders-report-lack-of-communication-on-plan-cuautla ### 2026-09-29: Morelos government rejects political rhetoric in security strategy Morelos Secretary of Government Edgar Maldonado Ceballos stated that security requires daily action and institutional coordination rather than political rhetoric, focusing on territorial operations in Cuautla. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/morelos-government-rejects-political-rhetoric-in-security-strategy --- Cite as: Morelos security and economic strategy implementation.
