The hacker group Jabaroot has escalated its cyber offensive against Morocco, releasing a massive data leak containing the identities of 70,381 agents from the Direction Générale de la Surveillance du Territoire (DGST) and the DGSN. The compromised data includes names, ranks, dates of birth, and identification numbers. Among those targeted are 21 high-ranking officials, including intelligence chief Abdellatif Hammouchi.

Jabaroot stated the leak is of “major significance for Europe and Spain,” specifically citing the recent migration crisis in Ceuta. The group alleges it possesses information regarding agents involved in operations during that crisis and claims that Moroccan migration patterns to Europe were part of an “official state plan.” While the group shared files via Telegram, the authenticity of the data has not been independently verified.

Beyond the intelligence breach, Jabaroot claimed to have infiltrated the mobile phone of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez using Pegasus spyware. This follows previous breaches involving data on 3,400 royal palace employees and a breach of the social security institution CNSS, which reportedly exposed data on nearly two million workers.

Moroccan authorities have accused the hackers of receiving funding from Algeria. While Morocco points toward Algerian involvement, some European intelligence services have characterized the actor as a lone individual operating from abroad. The group has further threatened to release additional information regarding security operations in Ceuta.
