Morocco national team coach Mohamed Wahbi has expressed ambitions for the team to compete for the World Cup title, citing tactical strengths such as high pressing and ball possession. While noting the team's growing international status, Wahbi identified a need to improve clinical finishing and striker consistency following a 1–1 draw against Mali.

As the team prepares for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Wahbi is scheduled to announce a squad for upcoming matches against Niger in November 2026.
