Mount Ridley Mines has reported significant technical progress regarding mineral extraction at the Grass Patch Complex in Western Australia.

Initial automated mineralogy studies identified that rare earth elements are primarily hosted within three phosphate minerals: xenotime, crandallite-group phosphates, and monazite/rhabdophane. This finding established a basis for a beneficiation strategy involving potential flotation to concentrate minerals before leaching.

Subsequent metallurgical testing of the company’s proprietary Selectro leaching process demonstrated higher recovery rates for critical minerals compared to conventional hydrochloric acid leaching. Testing showed recoveries between 77% and 83% for heavy rare earth elements, such as dysprosium, terbium, and yttrium. The Selectro process also achieved an 80% recovery rate for scandium and an average of 56% for gallium, validating the polymetallic potential of the site.
