However, the situation has since escalated into a leadership crisis characterized by public accusations among high-ranking members. National mobilization chief Geraldo Carvalho has accused António Muchanga of serving external interests and acting in favor of the ruling Frelimo party. Muchanga has dismissed Carvalho as “insignificant” and “irrelevant,” while also directing criticism toward party president Ossufo Momade for allegedly failing to convene mandatory organizational meetings.
