American YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, has completed a nearly $10 million humanitarian project in Abna Dakwa, Ghana. Developed over eight months through his non-profit, Beast Philanthropy, the village aims to combat generational poverty and child labor in the cocoa industry by providing infrastructure for approximately 1,062 residents.

The completed village features a school capable of accommodating over 300 students, teacher housing, a medical clinic, a marketplace, a community center, and a football field. To improve living standards and food security, the project installed solar power, clean water systems, drainage infrastructure to prevent flooding, agricultural facilities, and new homes. As part of a five-year initiative to support students, the school will provide free daily meals.

Following the project's unveiling, Donaldson faced social media criticism questioning why such resources were not directed toward his local community in Greenville, North Carolina, which has a poverty rate of 24.6 percent. Donaldson defended his approach, noting that Beast Philanthropy operates extensively within the United States. He highlighted that his food program, Beast Pantry, has distributed over 48 million meals since 2020 across more than 20 communities in Eastern North Carolina, New York, and Pennsylvania.
