Muhammadiyah organizations have scheduled and conducted several national forums focused on religious jurisprudence and social empowerment.

In October 2026, plans were announced for the XXXIII Tarjih Muhammadiyah National Conference in Surabaya, set for November 5–7, 2026. This conference aims to address themes such as Fiqh for the elderly, food sovereignty, Islamic creed, and practical morals in digital spaces. The assembly is expected to bring together scholars from across Indonesia, including Aceh and Papua, and will feature seminars on the intellectual legacy of KH Mas Mansur.

Concurrently, the Muhammadiyah Community Empowerment Council held a meeting in Yogyakarta to evaluate grassroots programs. General Treasurer Hilman Latief encouraged the council to measure program impacts through social return on investment and contributions to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), suggesting the involvement of younger generations and technology. Additionally, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta hosted a national seminar and international conference centered on multidisciplinary collaboration for global sustainability, featuring 534 scientific articles.

Looking ahead, North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has expressed readiness to support the 49th Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah Muktamar, scheduled for November 2027 in Medan. Officials anticipate the event could attract up to 1 million visitors, providing a strategic boost to local hospitality, transportation, and MSME sectors.
