Following a fire in the Bayır neighborhood of Seydikemer on July 29, 2026, the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality provided support to residents impacted by the blaze. 

Among those affected was the Buhuroğlu family in the Çatak neighborhood. After young Umut Kerim Buhuroğlu lost his bicycle in the fire, teams from the municipality’s Department of Health and Social Services visited the family to gift him a new bicycle and other presents.
