A fire broke out at a temporary shooting set in the Film City complex in Goregaon East, Mumbai, on the afternoon of October 5, 2026. The blaze, reported around 4:02 pm, affected various productions including ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga 2’, ‘Hustle 5’, and potentially the film ‘Ramayana’. The fire destroyed significant equipment, such as electrical wiring, sound systems, and air conditioners.

Emergency services, including the Mumbai Fire Brigade and local police, brought the blaze under control by 4:55 pm. While officials suspect a short circuit may have caused the incident, production teams for ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga 2’ and ‘Hustle 5’ clarified that the fire originated on the former set before spreading. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

In the aftermath, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has called for a high-level inquiry and legal action against the relevant production house and channel for alleged negligence. The association has also requested the resignation of the Managing Director of Film City.
