Municipalities in Brazil continue to advance legislative and fiscal activities focused on local governance, social welfare, and public security.

In Curitiba, recent developments include the unanimous approval of new school transportation rules, which allow for more flexible vehicle transfers between authorized providers, and a R$ 13 million supplementary credit for the Curitiba Housing Company (Cohab-CT) to address tax and social security obligations. The Municipal Health Secretariat also reported that 17.27% of net current revenues were allocated to health during the first eight months of 2026, exceeding the constitutional minimum.

Security and environmental measures are also evolving; in Araraquara, the Municipal Secretariat of Security and Urban Mobility announced an initial R$ 544,000 investment to acquire 9mm semi-automatic pistols for the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM). In Votuporanga, authorities are deploying drones to monitor and combat illegal waste dumping.

Fiscal transparency and administrative updates remain a priority. In Apucarana, the administration reported positive fiscal results for the second quadrimestre, with R$ 489.1 million in revenue, meeting constitutional requirements for health and education spending. In Itu, the City Council unanimously approved a project to regulate the Industrial District, including the allocation of 5% of specific revenues to sports, leisure, and culture. Additionally, Niterói has modernized its tax payment system to include PIX and credit card options.

Other regional activities include Marília’s ‘Pink October’ cancer awareness campaigns and a large-scale housing event, Maringá’s ‘Desenrola Maringá – Phase 2’ law, and literacy guidelines in São Ludgero.
