Murat Sağlam, a German of Turkish origin, is undertaking a 4,500-kilometer inline skating journey from Frankfurt, Germany, to Ankara, Turkey. The expedition, which began on July 25, 2026, involves traveling through multiple countries including Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and North Macedonia.

While the journey was initially intended as a world record attempt, Sağlam has described the mission as evolving into a symbolic bridge for “hope, friendship, and peace.” He aims to serve as an ambassador of humanity, inspire children to pursue their goals through discipline, and foster real-world connections. 

After traveling through the Balkans and reaching Novi Pazar, Sağlam entered Turkey via the İpsala border crossing. His final destination is set to be Anıtkabir in Ankara.
