Her body was discovered near the Mella highway in the Alma Rosa sector. Following the discovery, the National Police arrested a 40-year-old man, Luis Miguel Santiago Guzmán, in connection with the death. Forensic examinations determined the cause of death was hypovolemic shock resulting from wounds sustained. During the investigation, homicide detectives and forensic technicians recovered clothing from the suspect that appeared to have bloodstains.
