Authorities in the State of Mexico are investigating the mass killing of Jonathan Samuel Meléndez Ochoa, founder of the band Camilo Séptimo, his pregnant wife, their three-year-old daughter, and a domestic worker. The attack occurred in Atizapán de Zaragoza, leaving a six-year-old son as the sole survivor of the family. 

Two suspects, Diego Sebastián ‘N’ and Gerardo ‘N’, have been detained. While early reports suggested the motive was a debt of approximately 300,000 Mexican pesos, subsequent investigations have highlighted a potential connection to cryptocurrency. 

Evidence suggests the suspects sought access to approximately 30 million pesos in cryptocurrency stored on a USB drive. Psychological analysis indicates the violence may have escalated due to frustration when the suspects failed to obtain the digital assets and the cash.
