Authorities in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, launched an investigation into the death of Dr. Cristina Ramos Argüello, a 34-year-old surgeon who worked at the IMSS-Bienestar Maternal and Child Hospital and the ISSSTE. Her body was discovered on October 15 in her apartment at the Santa Cecilia residential complex with multiple wounds reportedly caused by a sharp weapon.

The Fiscalía General del Estado de Veracruz opened an investigation under the feminicide protocol. While initial reports suggested her former partner as a person of interest, subsequent developments identified 22-year-old Lenin Salvador as the alleged perpetrator. Surveillance footage from the residential complex reportedly suggests the suspect forced entry into the apartment and attacked the victim with a knife.
