The Museum of the Portuguese Language in São Paulo is marking its 20th anniversary with the launch of a temporary exhibition titled ‘Luz da Língua’. Located at the Estação da Luz, the exhibition chronicles the institution’s history from its 2006 founding through the 2015 fire, reconstruction, and 2021 reopening.

In conjunction with the anniversary, the museum has launched a digital glossary titled ‘Palavra-Chave’.

Additionally, the museum has extended the application deadline for an international residency program in France, organized in collaboration with the Cité internationale de la langue française. The program seeks two individuals—one from Brazil and one from French Guiana—to conduct research or artistic creation focused on the history and valorization of indigenous languages. Selected participants will travel to Villers-Cotterêts in March 2027, with applications open until September 30.
