Indonesian musician Nadin Amizah released her third studio album, ‘Laika, Yang Ditinggalkan’, through her independent label, Sorai. The 11-track project explores themes of grief, loneliness, longing, and the absence of a father figure.

The album utilizes the historical story of Laika, the Soviet space dog, as a central metaphor for abandonment. Specific tracks include ‘Ditemukan Sebuah Bangkai’, inspired by reports of an unidentified body found during the 2020 Jakarta floods, and the closing track, ‘Laika, Kau Mudah Dicinta’, which depicts a character yearning for affection only to face abandonment.
