In late October 2026, various districts in Nagaland, including Niuland and Noklak, began organizing send-off programs to prepare their athletes for the upcoming 3rd Nagaland State and Para Games (NSPG). Local officials provided equipment, such as jerseys and tracksuits, and emphasized the importance of discipline and sportsmanship for the competing contingents.

The games officially commenced on November 2, 2026, in Chümoukedima and Dimapur. Organized by the Nagaland Olympic Association, the event is described as the largest sporting event in the state to date, involving approximately 2,953 athletes and 412 staff members from all 17 districts. The competition is structured in two phases across eight venues, with a Games Village established at the Nagaland Police Complex to provide essential services and medical facilities for the more than 4,000 total participants.
