The Naples court system has issued significant rulings in separate legal proceedings involving organized crime groups.

In a case linked to the Contini clan, the Court of Naples acquitted all defendants in a money laundering investigation. Presiding Judge Maurizio Conte ruled that the evidence was “superficial” and failed to prove the illicit origin of capital or the intent to evade prevention measures. This included the acquittal of Guido Albano, who had been accused of acting as a “hidden partner” in a business to facilitate fictitious ownership.

In a separate trial involving the Moccia clan, the VII criminal section of the Naples Court delivered sentences totaling over three centuries of combined prison time. Key convictions included 30 years for Antonio Moccia and 24 years for Angelo Moccia. The sentencing followed a period of legal controversy in August 2024 when several defendants were released due to the expiration of legal terms. The trial concluded after four years of hearings.
