Napoli has experienced a slow start to the Serie A season, earning seven points from five matches. While the team secured victories against Genoa and Bologna, they also suffered losses to Inter, Como, and Arsenal in the Champions League.

Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne defended the squad, noting that narrow defeats against tough opponents could have resulted in a higher standing. Despite the underwhelming results, there are no signs of a rift between manager Massimiliano Allegri and president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

As the season progresses, journalist Carlo Verna has noted a “climate of distrust” that may affect player self-esteem. Verna has called for patience regarding individual performances, such as that of Lorenzo Lucca, and suggested that an upcoming break could allow the team to recover and return in a stronger state by October 10.
