In mid-August 2026, police in Dong Nai City apprehended four individuals suspected of organizing illegal drug use after a residency inspection. The suspects tested positive for methamphetamine, and authorities recovered drug paraphernalia during the search.

Shortly after, authorities intercepted a major smuggling attempt near the Cambodian border in Loc Tan commune. Following a high-speed chase with a taxi, border guards and task forces seized approximately 18kg of suspected methamphetamine and 2kg of suspected heroin.
