NASCAR is collaborating on a sequel to the 1990 film ‘Days of Thunder’, starring Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway. To maintain authenticity for the project, which is scheduled for release in June 2028, NASCAR is reportedly constructing more than 80 cars for the production.

NASCAR CEO Steve O’Donnell stated that Cruise has expressed interest in competing in a legitimate ARCA Menards Series race to enhance the film’s realism. While O’Donnell confirmed the actor’s desire to race, he expressed uncertainty regarding the feasibility of such a feat due to Cruise’s lack of prior motorsports experience.
