During a 50-minute practice session for the Freeway Insurance 500, Ryan Blaney recorded the fastest lap. Driving the No. 12 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, Blaney is currently fifth in the Chase standings and is attempting a season sweep at the 1.022-mile trioval. Other notable practice performers included Carson Hocevar in second and Joey Logano in third.
