To modernize visitor flow and reduce waiting times, the institution implemented mandatory online scheduling through an official platform as part of the ‘Visite o Congresso’ program. The new website allows citizens and tourists to book free reservations for tours that run from Thursday to Monday, including weekends and holidays. Each 50-minute tour is accompanied by mediators and covers key architectural features designed by Oscar Niemeyer, as well as the plenaries of the Chamber of Deputies and the Federal Senate. Tours include visits to various colored Salões (Black, White, Green, and Blue) and the Senate’s ‘Tunnel of Time’. To enhance inclusivity, the system supports accessibility needs, including Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) and mediation in English, Spanish, and French, provided these are requested during the registration process. Officials stated the program is intended to promote ‘civic tourism, political education, and citizenship.’ ## Timeline ### 2026-09-28: Congresso Nacional launches new online booking for guided tours The Brazilian National Congress has introduced a new online booking system for its guided tours in Brasília to improve visitor management and accessibility for its annual 150,000 guests. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/congresso-nacional-launches-new-website-for-guided-tours ### 2026-09-25: Congresso Nacional implements mandatory online scheduling for visits Visits to Brazil's National Congress now require mandatory online scheduling to reduce wait times and manage visitor flow at the Brasília landmark. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/congresso-nacional-implements-mandatory-online-scheduling-for-visits --- Cite as: National Congress of Brazil guided tour modernization.
