The National Conservatism (NatCon) conference convened in Jerusalem, gathering a diverse group of Israeli, American, and European nationalists, including Christian nationalists and far-right figures. Initial reports noted the presence of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and various European nationalist leaders, though a scheduled speech by Sebastian Gorka was canceled due to a scheduling conflict. Following the commencement, observers noted a growing disconnect between the Israeli state and certain factions of the American right wing. While the conference focused on themes of sovereignty, borders, and national security, the event took place near the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks. Despite some praise for Israel as a ‘model of nationalist vigor’ from figures such as Heritage Foundation head Kevin Roberts, the proceedings highlighted an atmosphere of alienation. This shift suggests that certain isolationist and antisemitic wings within the U.S. right-wing ecosphere are distancing themselves from Israel, including segments of Republican and young Evangelical voters. The conference largely avoided addressing Israel’s immediate political and security crises. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-10: National Conservatism Conference held in Jerusalem amid shifting US-Israel ties The National Conservatism conference in Jerusalem highlighted tensions and an increasing sense of alienation between the Israeli state and segments of the American right-wing movement. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/national-conservatism-conference-held-in-jerusalem-amid-shifting-us-israel-ties ### 2026-10-06: National Conservatism conference convenes in Jerusalem A National Conservatism conference in Jerusalem has convened, featuring far-right politicians and Christian nationalists from Israel, the United States, and Europe. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/national-conservatism-conference-convenes-in-jerusalem --- Cite as: National Conservatism conference in Jerusalem.
