While not a statutory day off, the occasion is marked by ceremonies, assemblies, and student performances across numerous municipalities to honor teachers, administrators, and support staff. Recent observations on October 14, 2026, saw widespread celebrations. In Warsaw, the Polish Craft Association hosted a conference to award Medals of the National Education Commission to vocational masters. Local governments in Tychy, Biała Podlaska, Sulejów, Konie, Buk, and Biłgoraj presented awards to educators, while others included religious services in Licheń or student-led film chronicles. In Busko-Zdrój, the Technical and Informatics School Complex held ceremonies to honor staff, and several municipalities hosted first-grade swearing-in ceremonies. To facilitate the holiday, the regional carrier Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna offered educators a special promotion, allowing travel for a symbolic price of one złoty upon presentation of valid identification. Despite the festive atmosphere, discussions highlighted tensions regarding traditional gift-giving, with some educators expressing frustration over receiving unwanted items like mugs and trinkets. In Rzepin, Mayor Sławomir Dudzis and Deputy Mayor Adriana Dydyna-Marycka presented Mayor’s Awards on October 19, and Skawina later held ceremonies to recognize the impact of teachers and administrative staff on the city's youth. These celebrations continue the tradition of recognizing professional achievements and pedagogical commitment across the country. ## Claims - Danuta Szczepanik opened the ceremony at the First High School in Turek.
