Preparations began for National Night Out events in Lufkin and Simpsonville, aimed at strengthening partnerships between law enforcement and local residents. In Lufkin, organizers planned festivities at Cotton Square featuring live music, fire safety demonstrations, and animal adoption opportunities.

On October 6, Lufkin hosted the ‘Rock The Park’ event at Cotton Square. The celebration included live music from the Crimestoppers Band, face painting, and access to emergency vehicles such as a SWAT truck, patrol boat, and ambulance. While National Night Out is observed across much of the United States in August, Texas holds its celebrations on the first Tuesday of October.
