In late October 2026, various events were held in Konya to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Necmettin Erbakan, the former Turkish Prime Minister and founder of the Milli Görüş movement.

The commemorations began with the International Necmettin Erbakan and Turkish Foreign Policy Congress (INEPOL 2026). Organized by Necmettin Erbakan University and the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, the two day event focused on Erbakan’s intellectual and political legacy. Speakers discussed his impact on Turkish political history, his vision for industrialization, and his role in shaping Turkey’s foreign policy through cooperation with the Islamic world.

Following the congress, political leaders gathered at the Karatay Youth Center for a commemorative ceremony.
