The UP Warriorz cricket franchise has appointed former Indian cricketer and ICC Hall of Famer Neetu David as its Chief Scout for the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

David, who previously served as the Chairperson of the BCCI’s All-India Women’s Selection Committee, will lead the team’s scouting program to identify and develop emerging talent from domestic and grassroots levels across India. 

The appointment follows a period of varying performance for the franchise, which reached the playoffs in its inaugural season but finished at the bottom of the table in its third and fourth editions. David noted that the franchise is working to address “past shortcomings and mistakes” and highlighted the progress made under head coach Abhishek Nayar.
