The site features a nearly circular earthwork approximately 230 meters in diameter with a ditch exceeding 2.5 meters in depth. A research team led by Petr Krištuf from the University of West Bohemia, in collaboration with Charles University in Prague and the University of Hradec Králové, identified the structure as one of the oldest monumental sites in Central Europe, predating Stonehenge by more than 1,000 years. The complex contains twelve irregularly placed entrances that appear to function as an advanced astronomical calendar. These alignments allow for the observation of solar and lunar cycles, including the summer and winter solstices and the extreme positions of the Moon during its 18.6-year cycle.
