Cassems has established the first neonatal and pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Corumbá, serving the Pantanal region. The facility includes 10 high-complexity beds, split equally between five neonatal beds for newborns up to 28 days old and five pediatric beds for children aged 29 days to 12 years. The project also features a Human Milk Bank.

The initiative involved a total investment of R$ 11.19 million, with R$ 7.44 million for construction and R$ 3.75 million for medical equipment. Developed through a partnership between the municipality, the state government, and Cassems, the unit aims to decentralize specialized healthcare in Mato Grosso do Sul. This expansion is intended to reduce the necessity of transporting critically ill children to reference centers in Campo Grande, located over 400 kilometers away, thereby providing care closer to patients' families.
