The Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital has completed the first phase (1D) of the Neo-IHAN accreditation process for its Neonatal Unit. This initiative is part of the international Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative led by the World Health Organization and UNICEF.

The accreditation aims to implement evidence-based practices that integrate medical and nutritional needs with breastfeeding support, family involvement, and humanized assistance. Previous steps taken by the hospital include establishing an open-door policy for family visits and receiving accreditation as a recipient of donated human milk.
