Netflix and the South Korean developer KRAFTON are collaborating to develop a live-action series based on the video game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).

Donald Glover is attached to the project in several capacities, including as the lead actor, director, writer, and executive producer. He will work alongside his brother, Stephen Glover, who is set to serve as a writer and executive producer. Other executive producers include Michael Schaefer of NEON TV, Fam Udeorji of Gilga, and KRAFTON’s Taeseok Jang and Sujin Lee from the company’s production division, LV3H.

Because the original game lacks a central narrative campaign, the creative team intends to develop original characters and storylines centered on the survival-based gameplay. This project is part of KRAFTON’s ongoing efforts to expand the PUBG brand into transmedia entertainment. As of the latest reports, no official release date, specific plot details, or additional casting information have been announced.
