Production for the Netflix series ‘Bridgerton’ continues to advance across multiple seasons. Filming for season 5 has officially concluded in the United Kingdom. While a Netflix representative initially disputed claims made by actor Luke Thompson regarding the end of production, the platform has since confirmed the milestone via its Tudum site. Season 5 is expected to focus on the characters Francesca and Michaela, with industry speculation suggesting a release as early as summer 2027.

Development for season 6 is being handled by showrunner Jess Brownell and a writing team, with scriptwriting officially underway. While Netflix has confirmed a sixth season is in production, the specific lead romance has not been formally announced. However, reports indicate the writing team is revisiting Julia Quinn’s source material, specifically studying the fifth novel, ‘To Sir Phillip, With Love’, to prepare for Eloise Bridgerton’s narrative arc. This indicates a shift in narrative order compared to the original books, as season 6 is anticipated to center on Eloise.

Regarding the cast, actress Nicola Coughlan, who portrays Penelope Featherington, previously noted that her role would be more secondary in season 5 compared to her prominence in season 4.
