Set in Los Angeles, the plot centers on a mayoral candidate and his wife, played by Affleck and Kerry Washington, who must navigate a web of lies and intense time pressure to secure ransom money after their son is kidnapped. The story explores how individuals may act like ‘animals’ to survive or achieve their goals. The screenplay was co-written by Affleck, Connor O. McIntyre, and Billy Ray.

The production, which began filming in March 2025 following a one-year delay, is a project from Artists Equity, the studio founded by Affleck and Matt Damon.
