Netflix released a trailer for The Mosquito Bowl, a World War II action drama directed by Peter Berg. Based on the book by Buzz Bissinger, the film follows elite college football players who enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps following the attack on Pearl Harbor, eventually preparing for the invasion of Okinawa.

Subsequent coverage detailed the film’s focus on a legendary football game played between two Marine divisions at Guadalcanal on Christmas Eve, 1944. While the production features a cast including Nicholas Galitzine and Bill Skarsgård, some reviews noted that the sports elements occupy a relatively small portion of the 126-minute runtime.
