The Netflix comedy series ‘Chumbak’ explores the changing dynamics of neighborhood relationships, specifically focusing on the loss of traditional closeness and mutual support systems in modern society.

Writer-director Aatish Kapadia, who co-created the series with Jamnadas Majethia, noted that the show aims to capture an era of warmth that has been replaced by more formal politeness. Actress Sandeepa Dhar described the creative process, noting that Kapadia’s unique method of narrating the script—using different voices, tones, and gestures for every character—inspired her to join the project. The series features a cast including Sumeet Vyas, Sumeet Raghavan, Neena Gupta, and Mansi Parekh.
