Initially, Hatzidakis emphasized the necessity of maintaining a unified party image, stating that ‘no voter should be taken for granted’ and expressing a desire for broad participation from party figures, including former Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis. During a large-scale event at the Glasshouse in Goudi commemorating the 52nd anniversary of ONNED, the party’s youth wing, Hatzidakis characterized the upcoming 2027 elections as a ‘decisive battle for the future of Greece.’ He asserted that the electoral outcome will determine if the nation continues its path toward becoming a ‘modern, European Greece by 2030.’ Addressing the gathering of thousands of members and representatives, Hatzidakis noted that while New Democracy is a multi-faceted party, ONNED members and DAP-NDFK alumni remain its core. He also acknowledged internal grievances regarding a lack of recognition for certain members’ contributions, pledging to address these issues and ‘correct mistakes where necessary’ to ensure party unity remains the primary priority. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-16: ONNED celebrates 52 years with call for 2027 election mobilization At an event marking ONNED’s 52nd anniversary, Vice President Kostis Hatzidakis called for mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections, emphasizing the youth wing as the core of New Democracy. 12 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kostis-hadjidakis-calls-for-new-democracy-mobilization-ahead-of-elections ### 2026-10-05: Kostis Hatzidakis calls for New Democracy unity ahead of elections Greek Vice President Kostis Hatzidakis called for unity within the New Democracy party ahead of elections, urging leadership to listen to voters and emphasizing the importance of party cohesion. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kostis-hatzidakis-calls-for-new-democracy-unity-ahead-of-elections --- Cite as: New Democracy party mobilization in Greece.
