Preparations for the November 3, 2026, general election in New Jersey have focused on administrative readiness and political competition. State and county officials have initiated recruitment for poll workers to support both the early voting period and Election Day.

Politically, attention has centered on competitive congressional races, specifically in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District. While Republican Representative Tom Kean Jr. currently holds the seat, national Democrats are investing resources into the district, which is characterized by high volatility.

Voters are being reminded of registration requirements, including a deadline to register at least 21 days before the election, and various methods for casting ballots such as in-person, early voting, or mail-in programs.
