Following a championship run, New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown was credited by assistant coach Rick Brunson for using ‘old-school’ individual meetings to resolve team grievances and shift momentum during a late-season struggle.

However, in a subsequent period, Brown issued a blunt assessment of the team following a 0-3 start to the NBA season. Criticizing defensive lapses and a lack of identity, Brown stated, ‘Our crap stinks. It does. And we’re the only ones that can do something about it.’
