In the minor league system, affiliates such as Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Double-A Somerset posted winning records but failed to secure championships, partly due to the promotion of prospects like Spencer Jones and George Lombard Jr. to the major league roster. Following the major league team's elimination from the American League Division Series by the Tampa Bay Rays, internal calls for organizational change have emerged. Former player Alex Rodríguez suggested a shift in management philosophy, arguing that General Manager Brian Cashman requires personnel better equipped to evaluate offensive and defensive performance. Team captain Aaron Judge also addressed roster deficiencies, stating the organization should ‘go all-in’ to acquire the talent necessary for a championship-caliber team. While Judge advocated for more aggressive front-office action, he maintained his support for manager Aaron Boone. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-10: New York Yankees face calls for organizational change after postseason exit Following their postseason elimination by the Tampa Bay Rays, Alex Rodríguez and Aaron Judge have called for a change in philosophy and more aggressive roster management for the New York Yankees. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/new-york-yankees-face-calls-for-organizational-change-after-postseason-exit ### 2026-09-23: New York Yankees face mixed results in farm system and postseason roster debates The New York Yankees' minor league affiliates finished the 2026 season without a title, while MLB roster debates focus on whether José Caballero offers more postseason value than Ryan McMahon. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/new-york-yankees-face-mixed-results-in-farm-system-and-postseason-roster-debates --- Cite as: New York Yankees postseason and organizational status.
