The New York Yankees are undergoing roster restructuring following their postseason exit. Key developments include infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. becoming a free agent after not receiving a qualifying offer, while the team has extended a qualifying offer to reliever David Bednar. The organization is reportedly evaluating options for second base and expressing interest in catcher Ryan Jeffers.

On the coaching front, bench coach Brad Ausmus is reportedly interviewing with the Houston Astros. The team is also monitoring international prospects, including Shoki Oda and Teruaki Sato, though Sato’s availability may be impacted by a potential MLB lockout.

Broadly, Major League Baseball is entering a period of transition. A possible lockout could freeze transactions in December. Other league developments include Silver Slugger award nominations and the upcoming arbitration process, alongside internal Yankees discussions regarding pitcher Luis Gil.
